The Association for a Progressive African Youth (AJAP) has learned with great pride that, during his State Visit to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau on 16 September 2025, His Excellency Major General Évariste NDAYISHIMIYE, President of the Republic of Burundi, was awarded the highest national distinction of this brotherly country by His counterpart, His Excellency Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
On this auspicious occasion, AJAP extends its sincere and warmest congratulations to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi. This distinction is a shining testimony of recognition for His unwavering commitment to strengthening ties of friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation between Burundi and Guinea-Bissau.
Furthermore, AJAP commends the signing, on the occasion of this State Visit, of several bilateral agreements of strategic importance, namely:

A framework cooperation agreement;

A visa exemption agreement for citizens of both countries;

An agreement on regular political and diplomatic consultations.
These solemn commitments mark a new stage in strengthening relations between @Gitega and #Bissau, based on reciprocity, mutual trust, and a shared vision of a united, sovereign, and solidary Africa.
AJAP also expresses its pride in seeing Burundi honored on the international stage through the recognition bestowed upon its Head of State and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the ideals of peace, solidarity, and cooperation that guide the diplomatic action of the Republic of Burundi.
